On the essence of shamanism.

Local shamanic practice

Many feel drawn to the shamanic. In weekend or online courses, they learn about plants, stones and power animals, drumming, shamanic journeying and perhaps also shamanic techniques such as soul retrieval. Afterwards, they work on themselves and with others as “shamanic practitioners” by celebrating rituals and conducting healing sessions. Some are satisfied with this, but others feel that they lack the strength, that they are not going any deeper and that they are not seeing the desired positive effects in their lives or those of their clients. They intuitively feel that more could be possible.

Shamanism is spirit healing

Shamans learn over many years. They often have experience with spirits in childhood and find this calling. During their training, they get to know their guiding spirits and deepen their contact with them in a balance of giving and receiving. A close friendship develops, which strengthens over the years and creates the basis for good cooperation. These shamans do not simply practise techniques, but the spirits work through them. This can range from intuitions about what to say or do for a healing, to channeling and even incorporation, where the spirit speaks and acts through the shaman. The power of the shaman thus comes from the connection to the spiritual world, because he opens the door so that it can work. Even simple techniques have an extremely powerful effect.

Core shamanism

Many people in this country have studied core shamanism or in schools based on it. This was founded by US anthropologist Michael Harner, who selected techniques that were practiced in a similar way in different cultures and taught them in the West, detached from their cultural and religious context. As a result, many Westerners have found access to shamanism, have been able to heal and satisfy their longing for reconnection, as this way of working can be easily combined with their own cultural and religious background.

However, many of these shamanic practitioners seek more after a few years of practice: they want more power, because the technique lacks magic due to the detachment and only a small amount of energy can flow without the help of the spirit. But perhaps it is also the call of the spirits that they hear.

The wrong spirits

Practitioners who are not connected to their guiding spirits run the risk of giving too much of their own energy. On the other hand, they can easily come into contact with the wrong spirits, because anyone who opens up without sufficient knowledge and protection, and works with every light being that shows itsel,f can be taken advantage of: Not every being of light is a good being, there are also those who like to attach themselves to people and suck out their life energy in exchange for a few words of wisdom or some healing energy. Only through years of work can you get to know your guiding spirits well enough to always recognize them and rule out the possibility of a wrong spirit getting involved.

The real magic

The gate - whether to gods, ancestors or power animals - can only be opened by the spiritual world. Those who have this access, have developed their clairvoyance accordingly and have been able to deepen their relationship with their spirits sufficiently so that they have enough trust in their work and are able to withdraw enough during shamanic work so that the spirits can work with full power, can work much more powerfully. Because it is not the technique that makes the power, but the spiritual connection. A shamanic ritual can be very simple and yet powerful.

Gods, ancestors, power animals and other spirits can also be called upon and asked for contact, but they decide whether and how they want to support you. They often test whether you are really serious about engaging with them, wanting to grow spiritually and allowing yourself to be shaped into a more conscious person. This requires dedication, patience and perseverance.

In shamanism, the spirits are the teachers

Many people in this country practise shamanism more as a hobby, but really following the shamanic path means always being in contact with the spiritual world: Spirit not only wants to be called upon when you need help or are doing a ritual, but the connection needs to be strengthened on a daily basis. It is also important to accept the spirit as your teacher, as it trains the shaman and guides him/her into power. You have to be willing to help when someone needs support and the spirit wants to help, and sometimes you have to accept drastic changes in your life circumstances so that you can take the necessary steps towards transformation, grow and fully develop and live your shamanic potential. Becoming a shaman is a calling and this powerful and magical path comes with obligations. It requires a great deal of humility, because you are acting on behalf of the spiritual world.

Would you like to strengthen your relationship with your guiding spirits?

This is not possible as part of an online or weekend course.

If you are serious about it and are not afraid of the work, I will be happy to support you.
